Terry Fox-funded researchers raise over $182k for cancer research in 2026 Terry Fox Run Challenge

This Sunday, Terry Fox-funded researchers across Canada came together once again for this year's Terry Fox Run Challenge, raising $182K and counting for cancer research! 

The Terry Fox Run Challenge is an annual fundraising competition among research teams across the Terry Fox Research Institute's programs: TFRI’s Research Grants Programs, the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network, and the Digital Health and Discovery Platform.

Forty-six years ago, Terry Fox started a marathon against cancer. Today, researchers are working to help finish it every day in laboratories and clinics across the country. By participating in the Terry Fox Run Challenge, they go the extra mile to raise funds that fuel Canadian cancer research.

So far, this year’s top fundraising teams are the Vancouver Prostate Centre which raised $48,592; Fearless Ottawa Research Champions, which raised $33,855; and the Terry Fox Research Institute's staff team, which raised $11,523.

And it’s not too late to get involved. The competition will remain open until the end of the month, so there’s still time to make a donation and help us cross the finish line together.
