Network data sharing goes live, allowing researchers to request access to Gold Cohort data
We are excited to announce that Network data sharing is "Live” as of March 1st, 2026. This means Network researchers can now routinely request access to Gold Cohort data for analysis projects. Access requests can be submitted to the MOHCCN Data Access Committee (DAC). Network readiness to share data has been demonstrated through five pilot projects, which are ongoing. These projects have helped the Network refine and improve procedures and implementation.
As of Network Go-Live, the 6-month embargo period is in full effect. Research teams are required to release data after this six month period to the Network. Practically speaking, this means that all Years 1-4 genomic data must now be made available (with any outstanding clinical data added by March 31st). Year 5 data is expected to becoming available on a rolling basis, with clinical data completion and most genomic data becoming available by June 30th. The entire Gold Cohort from Phase 1 will be outside embargo and available to the Network at the latest by October 2026.
We would like to thank Network researchers for their incredible efforts to generate the invaluable Gold Cohort, and for sharing it in the spirit of collaboration and advancing cancer research for the benefit of patients. We would also like to thank the Data Policy and Standards Committee for their leadership to establish enabling policies, as well the Data Sharing Sub-group, DAC, and many others who contributed to implementing procedures and infrastructure.
Projects approved to access the Gold Cohort will be listed on a dedicated registry on the MOHCCN Website.
