Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network launches its 2026 Health Informatics & Data Science Award competition
The Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network is excited to announce the launch of its 2026 funding competition for early career health informaticians and data scientists.
The MOHCCN Health Informatics & Data Science Award will provide outstanding early-career researchers with funding to support high-quality research in precision oncology. The award supports graduate (Master’s or PhD) and postdoctoral researchers in health informatics, data science, or related fields who are using MOHCCN data to advance innovative approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and/or treatment.
The total value of the awards is $100,000 ($50k from the Network, to be matched by the applicant's host institution). Funds may be used as salary support for award recipients or to cover approved research expenses.
This year, the Network is pleased to offer additional supports to applicants from underserved populations and those underrepresented in genomics research. These supports may include mentorship opportunities and increased access to matching funds, including the possibility that one or more awards may be granted without the requirement for matching funds. Applicants who identify as a member of one or more underserved communities and who wish to be considered for these additional supports are invited to complete the relevant section of the application (please see full RFA for details).
Full applications for this award are due on April 9, 2026.
