New staff joins the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network

A number of new employees have joined the TFRI staff to work specifically on the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network over the last few months. Here, we present our newest team members!

Jessie Micholuk, Network Program ManagerLocation: Montreal
Jessie Micholuk is the Network Program Manager for the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network program at the TFRI. She holds a Master of Public Health, with a focus in Health Policy and Management, from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. She has an extensive background in developing programmatic healthcare solutions in Canada and the United States, having worked as a healthcare consultant to state and federal health agencies in the U.S., and managing a pan-Canadian thrombosis research network.
What does Terry Fox mean to you? // Que signifie Terry Fox pour vous?
To me, Terry Fox embodies perseverance. His ability to continuously strive for his goal, even in the face of so much adversity, will always be an inspiration. I think we can all look to him to find hope when it seems like it’s run out.
Pour moi, Terry Fox incarne la persévérance. Sa capacité à poursuivre son objectif, même face à tant d’adversité, sera toujours une source d’inspiration. Je pense que nous pouvons tous compter sur lui pour trouver de l’espoir quand il semble qu’il soit épuisé.

Any horror movie, as long as I’m watching it with a group of friends! And of course, The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Adrian Thorogood, Data Governance Manager
Location: Montreal
Adrian Thorogood is TFRI’s Data Governance Manager. He is passionate about enabling the effective and responsible sharing of data across research networks in order to accelerate science and improve patient care. As a lawyer and legal researcher, Adrian has supported numerous international precision medicine initiatives, including the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, and the EU 1+ Million Genomes Initiative. He has also contributed to innovation in the broader field of data governance through publications in leading scientific, legal, and bioethics journals. Adrian holds a joint common law / civil law degree from McGill University, and a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto.

I take daily inspiration from Terry’s focus on such a selfless and audacious goal, and his incredible toughness and commitment to see it through.
