Dr. Roseline Godbout is the Director of the Department of Experimental Oncology, Cancer Research and Analytics, Alberta Health Services, and the Director, Division of Experimental Oncology, Department of Oncology, University of Alberta. She is Professor in the Department of Oncology, University of Alberta.
Dr. Godbout received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of New Brunswick, and her PhD from the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. She did her post-doctoral training at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, and Princeton University.
Dr. Godbout’s lab is studying a number of different cancer types (glioblastoma, breast, prostate and pediatrics) to understand the underlying mechanisms driving cancer aggressiveness. Of particular interest to the lab is the family of fatty acid binding proteins involved in the uptake of fatty acids from the tumour microenvironment and the subcellular distribution of fatty acids within cancer cells.
